In recognition of this challenge, I offer a 50% discount on my SME rate for those who are paying for coaching directly out of their own pocket. Due to the discounted rate, I am only able to have a set number of private clients at any one time.
About Gary Buxton
Gary has worked in national leadership roles for 15 years. In 2007, Gary established Young Advisors and over 7 years, grew it to employ 1,500 across 55 locations nationally. In 2015, Gary took the inaugural Director of Youth Services role with Ingeus, a global B-Corp to establish their service offer for young people. In addition to mobilising a UK contract portfolio of £70 million, Gary designed programmes for Ingeus internationally, was the Operational Lead for designing the Contract Lifecycle methodology (which is now used for each multi-million pound contract that Ingeus delivers). Gary also chaired the Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion Board. Prior to concluding the role in early 2019, Gary led a bid team to secure an additional £108m of further contracts that would ensure the Division's future was assured until December 2022.
As a qualified Executive Coach with a degree in Psychology and additional complimentary qualifications in Action Learning, Psychometrics, Project Management and Facilitation, Gary brings both technical and experiential insights into his coaching practice.
Gary’s coaching style is characterised by positive curiosity and he uses a wide range of tools and models to support the coaching process. Through open questioning, thought experiments and the use of creative techniques, Gary is able to find unique ways of unlocking your inner motivations and accelerate your thinking to bring new insight on both leading people and strategy.
This process serves as an illustrative model of how coaching could work. Clients can customise how the time is used to flexibly meet your needs. This might be a very structured programme over a set period of time as detailed below, or a bank of hours which you can draw on as you need it. A chemistry meeting. This meeting will give you the opportunity to meet Gary and discuss your goals for coaching. Gary will outline the process of coaching and you will be able to reflect on whether coaching feels like the right option for you. This is a no-obligation meeting and there’s no charge if you both conclude that coaching isn’t the right thing for now. If you’re happy to proceed, you’ll bolt on a contracting meeting.
The contracting meeting will agree the strategic goals, programme of activity and then both parties can sign up to the coaching agreement.
A benchmarking survey. This will be an opportunity for you to appraise performance levels against the strategic goals as identified in the contracting meeting.
Booked coaching sessions will last no less than 90 minutes, not more than 120.
(6-12 month programmes) An online mid-point check in to review how you’re progressing towards your strategic goals and gather additional data to support your professional development.
The provision of any resources such as recommended reading, helpful models etc to support the coaching process
Support via email in between sessions as deemed helpful (see contract for guidance)
Performance appraisal survey against strategic goals. Again, you will be able to rate your performance against each of the strategic goals as agreed in the contracting meeting. Gary will then compose a report for the final review session to evaluate progress made.
